Presentation proposals for the WeTeach_CS Summit to be held June 5-7, 2017 in Austin, TX are now being accepted. 2016’s inaugural WeTeach_CS Summit featured 56 breakout sessions on a variety of CS and related topics. Based on the positive feedback we received, we’re hoping to offer even more sessions for 2017!
The Computer Science Principles Mini-Conference offers a variety of resources for teachers of AP Computer Science Principles (AP CSP). Informative and hands-on presentations and panels will be announced soon! Attendees will have an opportunity to collaborate across schools and districts to brainstorm plans for developing four-year CS pathways in Texas high schools.
The 2017 Texas STEM Conference, being held in Dallas on January 19-21, will kick-off its 10th year with a CS-heavy slate of pre-conference short courses on Thursday morning. The pre-conference will offer attendees their choice of 16 three hour sessions, 12 of which are CS education related. We’re thrilled that the Texas STEM Coalition has chosen to make CS education such important part of this year’s conference, but that’s not even the best part. Attendees who register before January 6, 2017 will not only receive the conference early-bird rate, but they will also receive access to the pre-conference at no additional cost.
2016 saw the successful launch of the first WeTeach_CS Summit, hosted by UT Austin’s Center for STEM Education. A cornerstone of the newly launched WeTeach_CS program, the summit brought together almost 300 teachers, administrators, and practitioners to talk, learn, and share experiences about growing CS education opportunities in Texas.
