The Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) is now accepting proposals for the 2018 CSTA Annual Conference, to be held July 7-10, 2018 in Omaha, Nebraska. The deadline for submitting proposals is November 26, 2017.
CSforAll Consortium will hold it’s CSforAll Summit on October 16-17 at Washington University in St. Louis to celebrate achievements and announce new commitments towards the goal of #CSforAll. Can’t make it? No problem! A special livestream #CSforAllSummit event is being held on October 17 at 9:00AM CDT.
SIGCSE announced recently that it will again award up five grants to teachers in oder to help cover costs of attending SIGCSE 2018, which will be held February 21 – 24, 2018 in Baltimore, MD. The grant includes complimentary registration and up to $500 travel expenses. Teachers interested in seeking this grant will need to apply online by the October 16, 2017 application deadline.
Karen North, Texas’ own Computer Science Champion of Change, along with Pamela Ossorio (Pin Oak MS, Houston ISD) will be presenting Coding in the Arts at the 2017 Houston Arts Partners Conference on Friday, September 15 at 10:30 AM. This STEAM focused session, combining computer science thinking with creative skills, pairs well with the HAP conference which seeks to integrate arts education with other subjects.
