WeTeach_CS Summit 2018 – Day Three Preview #wtcs2018

Good morning and welcome to day three of the 2018 WeTeach_CS Summit! This might be the last day, but we’re going to pack in as much top-notch CS professional development as possible. And did we mention door-prizes? Because, yes, there will be door-prizes! If you’re sticking around for the WeTeach_CS Deep Dives, then we’ll look forward to seeing you on Thursday and Friday. If you’re heading home at the end of today, then we hope to see you again soon. So, be sure to check out our other CS professional development offerings, both Face-2-Face and Online. We hope you’ve been energized and inspired by this year’s WeTeach_CS Summit and take that energy home with you to pass it along to your students, while advocating for #CS4TX and #CSforAll in your schools and communities.

WeTeach_CS Announces 2018 Change Maker and Mini-Grand Award Recipients during Summit #wtcs2018

Closing out the first day of the 2018 WeTeach_CS Summit, participants gathered for what has now become a tradition among the Texas CS education community, the awarding of the WeTeach_CS Change Maker and Mini-Grant Awards. Sponsored by Oracle Academy and Texas Instruments, the awards are not only a way to recognize the dedication and vision of exceptional teachers, but also to inspire the community as a whole to keep working for improved and expanded CS education in Texas. This year, WeTeach_CS presented eight teachers with Mini-Grant Awards, eight teachers with Change Maker Awards, and for the first time recognized two exceptional administrators with Change Maker Awards of their own.
