This summer, the College Board will initiate for the first time their AP Summer Institutes for CS Principles. These will be held all over that nation (I am offering three of these, as well as several of our teacher leaders from the MOOC). You can find a CS Principles APSI in your area at:
If you are planning to attend a CSP APSI, financial assistance is available from the College Board for some teachers who are in schools with 51% or higher minority enrollment or 51% of students on free or reduced lunch. The deadline for applying to the College Board is February 29th and the criteria are described below:
Thank you for your interest in offering or teaching AP® Computer Science Principles (CSP) at your school. It’s not too late for teachers to apply for a scholarship to attend an AP CSP Summer Institute in 2016. The application deadline has been extended to Feb. 29, 2016.
The AP CSP scholarship covers the cost of tuition for an AP CSP Summer Institute for teachers of AP CSP in the 2016-17 academic year at schools where at least 51 percent of the student population consists of underrepresented minorities (African American, Hispanic/Latino, and/or Native American students) and/or at least 51 percent of the student population qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch.

The White House Initiative scholarship provides $1,000 toward APSI tuition, travel, and expenses to teachers of AP CSP in the 2016-17 academic year at schools where at least 51 percent of the student population consists of Hispanic/Latino students. We are granting 180 of these scholarships as part of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics.

Please note that the scholarship funds can only be used toward tuition and expenses for an official AP Summer Institute; they cannot be used to finance AP CSP professional development offered by another organization.
