July 16th – 23rd, 2018
Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired — Austin, Texas
The Experience Programming in Quorum (EPIQ) conference is an international professional development workshop for educators to learn the skills necessary to teach students Computer Science Principles using the Quorum programming language. EPIQ was started in 2010 as part of a National Science Foundation funded project (CNS-0940521). Multiple tracks will be available to help teachers learn from any experience level in computer science, programming, or computer science principles.
EPIQ 2018 corresponds to the release of the Quorum programming language, version 6, which will introduce a new accessible graphic user interface library and support for Android devices. Besides this new tech, Quorum already supports a wide range of fun and engaging programming activities, from digital signal processing (audio applications), 2D/3D graphics and games, LEGO robotics, and many other types of applications. Curriculum using Quorum is used by teachers across the U.S. and has been thoroughly vetted by expert teachers in the classroom. It is free, runnable online, and fully accessible to people with disabilities.
