Thanks to the support of the Texas Education Agency (TEA), WeTeach_CS is offering a $1,000 stipend, through the Certification Incentive Program (CIP), to currently certified Texas educators who add a CS certification to their resume. This means current Texas teachers may be eligible to receive a $1000 stipend upon achieving CS certification. For complete information about deadlines and requirements, please read and follow all steps of the CIP Checklist. Texas teachers must meet certain eligibility requirements and be accepted into the program prior to testing to qualify for the $1,000 stipend.
WeTeach_CS Certification Prep Face-2-Face
Give John Owen and the WeTeach_CS Team two days and they’ll tell you what you’ll need to know to pass the TExES 241 CS 8-12 certification exam during this 2-day workshop style prep. WeTeach_CS Certification Prep Face-2-Face provides an overview of the educator competencies required of all teachers to become certified in Grades 8-12 Computer Science. We currently have six workshops scheduled before the end of the summer, so choose the one near you and register today!

Foundations of Computer Science for Teachers (Online)
Foundations of Computer Science for Teachers is designed to prepare teachers to take the TExES 241 Grades 8-12 Computer Science certification exam. The course provides extensive detailed instruction, examples and practice on everything from introductory programming topics such as variables, functions, loops and logical expressions to more advanced topics such as data structures, recursion, and object oriented programming. Bootstrap: Video Game Programming with Algebra (Face-2-Face)
Bootstrap teaches students to program their own video games in an algebraic programming language, exposing them to key math concepts. Middle- and high-school teachers around the country have implemented the curriculum as a one-month module, a weekly activity or an afterschool program. Always a popular offering, WeTeach_CS will host two 3-day workshops this summer and a 1-day follow-up session for teachers who have attended one of our previous Bootstrap workshops.

Logo Summer Institute (Face-2-Face)
The Logo Summer Institute is an intensive immersion in creative computing for K12 teachers. A project-based approach supports computational thinking, and STEAM learning and teaching. The program is highly individualized to accommodate novices as well as more experienced participants, teachers of different subjects, and those who work in informal settings as well as in classrooms. Learn to code as you explore and create projects using Scratch, Makey Makey, Hummingbird, Arduino, and a variety of other hardware and software platforms. The Logo Summer Institute provides a relaxed atmosphere with a small group of colleagues and a great deal of personal attention from experienced workshop leaders. 2018 WeTeach_CS Summit and Deep Dives
WeTeach_CS Summit 2018 – June 18-20
The WeTeach_CS Summit is a 3-day event which educates, empowers, and inspires K-12 CS teachers, advocates, administrators, professional development providers, university instructors, and policy-makers to advance the goal of CS for All in Texas and beyond. This year’s Summit will be held on the shores of the San Gabriel River at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel and Conference Center in Georgetown, TX, just outside of Austin. WeTeach_CS Deep Dives is a special 1.5-day workshop event which picks up right where the WeTeach_CS Summit (June 18-20) leaves off. So, if the three days of the 2018 WeTeach_CS Summit just doesn’t sound like enough CS professional development goodness for your tastes, then consider sticking around and taking part in WeTeach_CS Deep Dives! But you don’t have to attend the WeTeach_CS Summit in order to attend a Deep Dives course. Maybe you only have time to take a quick dip into one of the featured subjects.
